Send out an email everyday at 9am. How to build?

I’m building an internal tool for my sales team. I need my our sales reps to get an email every morning at 9am. Is this something I can build with Five?

You can certainly automate a mail merge to be sent out to your sales team each day. To do this it involves three steps:

  1. Create a query for your mail merge to get each of the sales members name and email.
  2. Create your mail merge.
  3. Create a job to automate your mail merge.

Steps

Create a Query

  1. Select Queries in the menu.

  2. Click the Add Item button in the list app bar.

  3. Type a title in the Title field.

  4. Click in the Query field to open Five’s Table and Fields Builder.

  5. Click the Add Table button.

  6. Select the table holding the name and email fields required to send out the mail merge to.

  7. Double click the Name and Email fields.

  8. Click the Save button in the Table and Fields Builder app bar.

  9. Click the Fields tab.

  10. Perform any editing to the query fields if required.

  11. Click the Save button in the form app bar.

Create a Mail Merge

  1. Select Mail Merges in the menu.

  2. Click the Add Item button in the list app bar.

  3. Type a title in the Title field.

  4. Click the lookup icon in the Query field and select the query for the mail merge.

  5. Click the lookup icon in the Name Field ID field and select the name field.

  6. Click the lookup icon in the Email Field ID field and select the email field.

  7. Type a subject line in the Subject Text field.

  8. Click in the Merge Text field to open the Five’s Text Editor.

  9. Design your email template.

  10. To personalize each staff members name in the email, click the lookup icon on the Tags button and select the Name placeholder.

  11. Click the Save button in the Text Editor app bar.

  12. Click the Save button in the form app bar.

Automate the Mail Merge

  1. Select Jobs in the menu.

  2. Type a name in the Name field.

  3. Click the lookup icon in the Action field and select the mail merge to be automated.

  4. Click the lookup icons in the Every field to select how often and what time to send the mail merge.

  5. Click the Save button in the form app bar.
